Muhammad Blew Gabriel’s Horn

By Brother Jed Smock

The Annunciation

Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well, the devils also believe and tremble (James 2:19).

Christianity and Islam hold a common belief in Angels.  According to Muslims, the Koran was revealed to Muhammad through the Archangel, Gabriel.  In the Old Testament Gabriel appears unto Daniel giving him a revelation concerning the last days.  In the New Testament Gabriel appears unto the virgin, Mary, and announces, “Fear not, Mary: for thou hast found favor with God. And, behold, thou shalt conceive in thy womb, and bring forth a son, and shalt call his name JESUS.  He shall be great, and shall be University of Minnesotacalled the Son of the Highest: and the Lord God shall give unto him the throne of his father David:  And he shall reign over the house of Jacob forever; and of his kingdom there shall be no end.  Then said Mary unto the angel, How shall this be, seeing I know not a man?  And the angel answered and said unto her, The Holy Ghost shall come upon thee, and the power of the Highest shall overshadow thee: therefore also that holy thing which shall be born of thee shall be called the Son of God. (Luke 1:30-35)”

The Koran’s account of the annunciation to Mary also affirms the virgin birth of Jesus: Surah 3:45-47: “Behold!the angels said: "O Mary! Allah gives the glad tidings of a Word from Him: his name will be Christ Jesus, the son of Mary, held in honor in this world and the Hereafter and of (the company of) those nearest to Allah; “He shall speak to the people in the cradle and in maturity. And he shall be (of the company) of the righteous." She said: "O my Lord! How shall I have a son when no man hath touched me?" He said: "Even so: Allah creates what He wills: When He hath decreed a plan, He but says to it, 'Be,' and it is!”

Muslims put on a good front in honoring, respecting and revering Jesus.  But the Koran is adamant in teaching that Jesus was merely a human prophet and not the Son of God, despite the uniqueness of his birth.  The Koran 6:101 recites that God could not have a Son since he has no wife:  “Wonderful Originator of the heavens and the earth! How could He have a son when He has no consort, and He (Himself) created everything, and He is the Knower of all things?”

Christians wonder how could Jesus be born of a virgin yet not be the Son of God?  Muslims respond that according to the Koran

Arizona State University 3:59:  “Verily, the likeness of Jesus before Allah is the likeness of Adam.  He created him from dust, then (He) said to him: ‘Be!’ --and he was.”  According to Muslims, just as Adam was without a father or mother, Jesus was created without a father, but that does not make him the Son of God any more than Adam was the Son of God.

The Bible also compares Jesus to Adam but recognizes the critical difference 1 Corinthians 15:45-47:  “And so it is written, The first man Adam was made a living soul; the last Adam was made a quickening spirit. Howbeit that was not first which is spiritual, but that which is natural; and afterward that which is spiritual. The first man is of the earth, earthy: the second man is the Lord from heaven.”

The Koran in affirming that Jesus is merely in the likeness of Adam states:  “(This is) the truth from your Lord, so be of those who doubt.  Then whoever disputes with you concerning Jesus after (all this) knowledge that has come to you [i.e.(Jesus) being a slave of Allah, and having no share in Divinity], say: (O Muhammad) ‘Come, let us call our sons and your sons, our women and your women, ourselves and yourselves--then we pray and invoke (sincerely) the Curse of Allah upon those who lie (Koran 3:60-1).”

Koran Commands Muslims to Curse Christians

Not only must Muslims curse Christians for lying, by attributing deity to Jesus, but this according to the Koran 4:48 is an unforgivable sin:  “Verily, Allah does not forgive the ascribing of divinity to anything beside Him, although He forgives any other sin to whomever He wills: for he who ascribes divinity to anything besides God has indeed contrived an awesome sin.”

A key chapter in the Koran teaches 112:1-4: “Say: He is Allah, the One and Only; Allah, the Eternal, Absolute; He begetteth not, nor is He begotten; And there is none like unto Him.”

But the most beloved verse of the Bible teaches that, “God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that Indiana State Universitywhosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life (John 3:16)” So we learn that God both begets and is begotten.  The Father begets and the Son is begotten.  Yes, there is one like the Father and that is his Son, Jesus Christ.

Let all Muslims beware!  The Bible teaches, “Whosoever transgresseth, and abideth not in the doctrine of Christ, hath not God. He that abideth in the doctrine of Christ, he hath both the Father and the Son (2 John 1:9).”  Muslims have another God, an idol fashioned by Muhammad, to whom they have submitted to the eternal peril of their souls.

Both Catholic and Protestant orthodoxy affirm that the doctrine of the Trinity is central to Christianity.  But the Koran in specifically addressing Christians as the people of the book warns in chapter 4:171: “O People of the Book! Commit no excesses in your religion: Nor say of Allah ought but the truth. Christ Jesus the son of Mary was (no more than) a messenger of Allah, and His Word, which He bestowed on Mary, and a spirit proceeding from Him: so believe in Allah and His messengers. Say not "Trinity!" Desist: it will be better for you: for Allah is one Allah: Glory be to Him: (far exalted is He) above having a son. To Him belong all things in the heavens and on earth. And Allah is all-sufficient as a Disposer of affairs.”

The clearest Biblical passage on the Trinity is 1 John 5:7:  “For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one.” Muslim’s mock the idea that one person could be another person, that Jesus could be the Father or the Father could be Jesus.  Of course, this is a misunderstanding of the Trinity.  The unity of the Godhead is not a unity of persons but a unity of spirit, purpose and love.  It is comparable to the Christian idea of marriage where the two become one.  But this does not mean that the wife is the husband or the husband is the wife.  They are one in spirit, purpose and love, so it is with the Godhead.  The Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit are unified in spirit, purpose and love, but they are not one person.  There are three distinct personalities in the Trinity, each one has his own will; nevertheless, each one is submitted to the other, so that there never has been any disagreement or lack of love or direction in their holy relationship.

The Godhead is also one in essence. Just as a husband and wife are one in essence that is both are fully human; the Godhead is one in essence that is each member is fully God.  The Father is God; the Son is God and the Holy Spirit is God.

It should be noted that when Jesus rose from the dead and appeared unto his disciples they worshipped him and Jesus claimedBowling Green State University to be the Almighty One: “And when they saw him, they worshipped him: but some doubted. And Jesus came and spoke unto them, saying, “All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth.  Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, Lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen (Mat 28:17-20).”

Jesus directed his disciples to go into all nations teaching in the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit until “the end of the age” (“age” is another translation for “world”).  Mark 16:15-16 says, “Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.  He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned.”  Since Muslims deny that Jesus is the Son of God and since they do not recognize the Father, or the Son the Holy Ghost, they are among the damned as long as they remain in unbelief.

Muslims Deny the Crucifixion of Jesus

Muslims are difficult to reach because when confronted with such verses from the Bible, they claim that Christians have a corrupted Bible, even though we are called “people of the book” in the Koran.  However, it is the Koran which is corrupt.  Some stories that are in the Koran concerning Jesus are not even in the Bible.  For example the Koran tells us that a palm tree provided sustenance for Mary after Jesus' birth (19:22-26). We are told that Jesus created pigeons from clay and then threw them into the air whereupon they turned into real birds and flew away (3:49 and 5:11). The baby Jesus is supposed to have talked from the crib (19:29-33) and perhaps most astonishing of all we are told that God, Mary and Jesus together constitute the Christian trinity (5:116)!

The worst false representation of Jesus in the Koran is the denial of Jesus’ crucifixion in 4:157-59:  “The Jews said (in boast), ‘We killed Christ Jesus the son of Mary, the Messenger of Allah’;- but they killed him not, nor crucified him, but so it was made to appear to them, and those who differ therein are full of doubts, with no (certain) knowledge, but only conjecture to follow, for of a surety they killed him not:  Nay, Allah raised him up unto Himself; and Allah is Exalted in Power, Wise;  And there is none of the People of the Book but must believe in him before his death; and on the Day of Judgment he will be a witness against them.”

University of Nebraska

Muslims believe that Allah raised Jesus into heaven without experiencing death.  They believe that on Judgment day Jesus will witness against those who claimed that he was more than a messenger by attributing to him deity.  By denying the Cross, Islam attacks the only hope anyone has for forgiveness of sins.  For if Jesus did not die for mankind, then all men are yet in their sins and consequently doomed to eternal damnation.  Mohammed in denying the Son ship of Jesus and the crucifixion may have been the most influential Anti-Christ figure in history.

Muhammad did not claim to be the founder of a new religion; he claimed that Jesus (as a prophet submitted to Allah) and his disciples were in fact Muslims, as was Abraham and Moses:

“It is Allah Who is my Lord and your Lord; then worship Him. This is a Way that is straight.’  When Jesus found unbelief on their part He said: ‘Who will be My helpers to (the work of) Allah?’ Said the disciples: ‘We are Allah's helpers: We believe in Allah, and do thou bear witness that we are Muslims. Our Lord! we believe in what Thou has revealed, and we follow the Messenger; then write us down among those who bear witness.’ And (the unbelievers) plotted and planned, and Allah too planned, and the best of planners is Allah. Behold! Allah said: ‘O Jesus! I will take thee and raise thee to Myself and clear thee (of the falsehoods) of thoseUniversity of Minnesota who blaspheme; I will make those who follow thee superior to those who reject faith, to the Day of Resurrection: Then shall ye all return unto me, and I will judge between you of the matters wherein ye dispute (Koran 3:51-59).’”

The Hadith teaches that at the Day of Resurrection as narrated Abu Hurrah, Muhammad said, “By Him in Whose Hand my soul is, surely Jesus, the son of Mary will shortly descend amongst you (Muslims), and will judge mankind justly by the law of the Quran (as a just ruler); he will break the cross and kill the pigs and there will be no Jizyah (i.e.. taxation taken from non-Muslims (Sahib Al-Bukhari, Vol. 4, HadithNo. 657).”

According to Islam at his second coming, Jesus will break the notion that he suffered on the Cross and made atonement for the sins of mankind.  He will destroy all images of the Cross, even as Muhammad destroyed all the 360 idols of the Kaaba when he victoriously returned to Mecca.   At his second advent Jesus will embrace the Koran as the word of God and Islamic law as universally applicable.

“I am the Son of God…”

The Koran’s representation of Jesus is nothing short of blasphemous. Yet, Mohammed’s claim is that Gabriel gave this revelation to him.  However, it was Gabriel who revealed to Mary that her child was to the Son of God.  The Gabriel that appeared to Muhammad was either a demon or a figment of the diabolical imagination of a grossly false prophet, who has lead multitudes to Hellfire by blowing Gabriel’s horn without his authority or tune.

Muslims claim to respect the Bible which repeatedly affirms that Jesus is the Son of God:  Jesus said, “Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life. Verily, verily, I say unto you, The hour is coming, and now is, when the dead shall hear the voice of the Son of God: and they that hear shall live.  For as the Father hath life in himself; so hath he given to the Son to have life in himself (John 5:24-26).”

University of Nebraska

After healing a blind man Jesus asked him, “Dost thou believe on the Son of God? He answered and said, Who is he, Lord, that I might believe on him? And Jesus said unto him, Thou hast both seen him, and it is he that talketh with thee (John 9:35-37).”

When the Jews intended to stone Jesus, He answered them, “Many good works have I showed you from my Father; for which of those works do ye stone me?  The Jews answered him, saying, For a good work we stone thee not; but for blasphemy; and because that thou, being a man, makest thyself God.  Jesus answered them, Is it not written in your law, I said, Ye are gods?  If he called them gods, unto whom the word of God came, and the scripture cannot be broken; Say ye of him, whom the Father hath sanctified, and sent into the world, Thou blasphemest; because I said, I am the Son of God? If I do not the works of my Father, believe me not. But if I do, though ye believe not me, believe the works: that ye may know, and believe, that the Father is in me, and I in him (John 10:32-38).”

“When the chief priests therefore and officers saw him, they cried out, saying, Crucify him, crucify him. Pilate saith unto them, Take ye him, and crucify him: for I find no fault in him. The Jews answered him, We have a law, and by our law he ought to die, because he made himself the Son of God (John 19:6-7).”

Bowling Green State University

Jesus said to Thomas, “Reach hither thy finger, and behold my hands; and reach hither thy hand, and thrust it into my side: and be not faithless, but believing. And Thomas answered and said unto him, My Lord and my God. Jesus saith unto him, Thomas, because thou hast seen me, thou hast believed: blessed are they that have not seen, and yet have believed. And many other signs truly did Jesus in the presence of his disciples, which are not written in this book: But these are written, that ye might believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that believing ye might have life through his name (John 20:27-31).”

The Sword of Mohammed

The Religion of Islam

by Jed Smock

American Christians' failure to take the Bible as earnestly and thoughtfully as the Muslim terrorist take the Koran made the United States vulnerable to a devastating attack on 9-11. Our ignorance of the religion of Islam and its prophet Mohammed, which since the seventh century has been the greatest worldwide competitor of Christianity, blinded Americans to the threat of the fastest growing religion of the world and a powerful enemy that is within our walls.
