A curse is on all of you because the whole nation is cheating me.

Perhaps my father will touch me and find out that I am deceiving him; in this way, I will bring a curse on myself instead of a blessing."

Israel has sinned! They have broken the agreement with me that I ordered them to keep. They have taken some of the things condemned to destruction. They stole them, lied about it, and put them with their own things.

This is why the Israelites cannot stand against their enemies. They retreat from them because they themselves have now been condemned to destruction! I will not stay with you any longer unless you destroy the things you were ordered not to take!

(Curse those who do not do the LORD's work with all their heart! Curse those who do not slash and kill!)

The master will cut him in pieces and make him share the fate of the hypocrites. There he will cry and gnash his teeth.

As thousands of people crowded together, so that they were stepping on each other, Jesus said first to his disciples, "Be on guard against the yeast of the Pharisees---I mean their hypocrisy.

Whatever is covered up will be uncovered, and every secret will be made known.

then the master will come back one day when the servant does not expect him and at a time he does not know. The master will cut him in pieces and make him share the fate of the disobedient.

But there was a man named Ananias, who with his wife Sapphira sold some property that belonged to them.

Peter said to him, "Ananias, why did you let Satan take control of you and make you lie to the Holy Spirit by keeping part of the money you received for the property?

As soon as Ananias heard this, he fell down dead; and all who heard about it were terrified.

About three hours later his wife, not knowing what had happened, came in.

So Peter said to her, "Why did you and your husband decide to put the Lord's Spirit to the test? The men who buried your husband are at the door right now, and they will carry you out too!"

But cowards, traitors, perverts, murderers, the immoral, those who practice magic, those who worship idols, and all liars---the place for them is the lake burning with fire and sulfur, which is the second death."

So when you make a promise to God, keep it as quickly as possible. He has no use for a fool. Do what you promise to do.

Better not to promise at all than to make a promise and not keep it.

As Jesus sat near the Temple treasury, he watched the people as they dropped in their money. Many rich men dropped in a lot of money;

He called his disciples together and said to them, "I tell you that this poor widow put more in the offering box than all the others.

She did what she could; she poured perfume on my body to prepare it ahead of time for burial.

If you are eager to give, God will accept your gift on the basis of what you have to give, not on what you don't have.

When you bring a blind or sick or lame animal to sacrifice to me, do you think there's nothing wrong with that? Try giving an animal like that to the governor! Would he be pleased with you or grant you any favors?"

People from one end of the world to the other honor me. Everywhere they burn incense to me and offer acceptable sacrifices. All of them honor me!

"If you do not obey faithfully all of God's teachings that are written in this book and if you do not honor the wonderful and awesome name of the LORD your God,

The LORD, the Most High, is to be feared; he is a great king, ruling over all the world.

Zion, the mountain of God, is high and beautiful; the city of the great king brings joy to all the world.

For the LORD is a mighty God, a mighty king over all the gods.

"I am the high and holy God, who lives forever. I live in a high and holy place, but I also live with people who are humble and repentant, so that I can restore their confidence and hope.

But you, LORD, are the true God, you are the living God and the eternal king. When you are angry, the world trembles; the nations cannot endure your anger.

"And now, I, Nebuchadnezzar, praise, honor, and glorify the King of Heaven. Everything he does is right and just, and he can humble anyone who acts proudly."

Then the LORD will be king over all the earth; everyone will worship him as God and know him by the same name.

nor by earth, for it is the resting place for his feet; nor by Jerusalem, for it is the city of the great King.

His appearing will be brought about at the right time by God, the blessed and only Ruler, the King of kings and the Lord of lords.

How awesome is God as he comes from his sanctuary--- the God of Israel! He gives strength and power to his people. Praise God!

he humbles proud princes and terrifies great kings.

I prayed to the LORD my God and confessed the sins of my people. I said, "Lord God, you are great, and we honor you. You are faithful to your covenant and show constant love to those who love you and do what you command.

because our God is indeed a destroying fire.

Who will not stand in awe of you, Lord? Who will refuse to declare your greatness? You alone are holy. All the nations will come and worship you, because your just actions are seen by all."
