Then the fourth angel poured out his bowl on the sun, and it was allowed to burn people with its fiery heat.

Then the fifth angel poured out his bowl on the throne of the beast. Darkness fell over the beast's kingdom, and people bit their tongues because of their pain,

So I let them go their stubborn ways and do whatever they wanted.

I have been calling you, inviting you to come, but you would not listen. You paid no attention to me.

So when you get into trouble, I will laugh at you. I will make fun of you when terror strikes---

Then you will call for wisdom, but I will not answer. You may look for me everywhere, but you will not find me.

You have never wanted my advice or paid any attention when I corrected you.

Inexperienced people die because they reject wisdom. Stupid people are destroyed by their own lack of concern.

Wicked people bring about their own downfall by their evil deeds, but good people are protected by their integrity.

No matter which direction a tree falls, it will lie where it fell. When the clouds are full, it rains.

Then, when I speak to you again and give you back the power of speech, you will tell them what I, the Sovereign LORD, am saying. Some of them will listen, but some will ignore you, for they are a nation of rebels."

Many people will be purified. Those who are wicked will not understand but will go on being wicked; only those who are wise will understand.

"Don't worry about them! They are blind leaders of the blind; and when one blind man leads another, both fall into a ditch."

He saw a fig tree by the side of the road and went to it, but found nothing on it except leaves. So he said to the tree, "You will never again bear fruit!" At once the fig tree dried up.

So the foolish ones went off to buy some oil; and while they were gone, the bridegroom arrived. The five who were ready went in with him to the wedding feast, and the door was closed.

Again Jesus said to them, "I will go away; you will look for me, but you will die in your sins. You cannot go where I am going."

and evil persons and impostors will keep on going from bad to worse, deceiving others and being deceived themselves.

Nothing that is under God's curse will be found in the city. The throne of God and of the Lamb will be in the city, and his servants will worship him.

One of the elders asked me, "Who are these people dressed in white robes, and where do they come from?"

That is why they stand before God's throne and serve him day and night in his temple. He who sits on the throne will protect them with his presence.

Those who claim to be respectable are more and more convinced they are right.

The road the righteous travel is like the sunrise, getting brighter and brighter until daylight has come.

"Happy are those whose greatest desire is to do what God requires; God will satisfy them fully!

in order to present the church to himself in all its beauty---pure and faultless, without spot or wrinkle or any other imperfection.

But now, by means of the physical death of his Son, God has made you his friends, in order to bring you, holy, pure, and faultless, into his presence.

To him who is able to keep you from falling and to bring you faultless and joyful before his glorious presence---
