Then Moses called Joshua and said to him in the presence of all the people of Israel, "Be determined and confident; you are the one who will lead these people to occupy the land that the LORD promised to their ancestors.

The LORD himself will lead you and be with you. He will not fail you or abandon you, so do not lose courage or be afraid."

Assemble all your tribal leaders and officials before me, so that I can tell them these things; I will call heaven and earth to be my witnesses against them.

Then the LORD ordered him, "Go with all your great strength and rescue Israel from the Midianites. I myself am sending you."

and instructed his servants: "Notice when Amnon has had too much to drink, and then when I give the order, kill him. Don't be afraid. I will take the responsibility myself. Be brave and don't hesitate!"

But Peter and John answered them, "You yourselves judge which is right in God's sight---to obey you or to obey God.

Israel, the LORD who created you says, "Do not be afraid---I will save you. I have called you by name---you are mine.

Do not be afraid---I am with you! "From the distant east and the farthest west I will bring your people home.
