God's anger is revealed from heaven against all the sin and evil of the people whose evil ways prevent the truth from being known.

Ever since God created the world, his invisible qualities, both his eternal power and his divine nature, have been clearly seen; they are perceived in the things that God has made. So those people have no excuse at all!

But you, my friend, do those very things for which you pass judgment on others! Do you think you will escape God's judgment?

But who are you, my friend, to talk back to God? A clay pot does not ask the man who made it, "Why did you make me like this?"

How can you be sure, Christian wife, that you will not save your husband? Or how can you be sure, Christian husband, that you will not save your wife?

You fool! Do you want to be shown that faith without actions is useless?

If the Gentile, who is not circumcised, obeys the commands of the Law, will not God regard him as though he were circumcised?

And so you Jews will be condemned by the Gentiles because you break the Law, even though you have it written down and are circumcised; but they obey the Law, even though they are not physically circumcised.

David became very angry at the rich man and said, "I swear by the living LORD that the man who did this ought to die!

"You are that man," Nathan said to David. "And this is what the LORD God of Israel says: 'I made you king of Israel and rescued you from Saul.

But God says to the wicked, "Why should you recite my commandments? Why should you talk about my covenant?

You become the friend of every thief you see, and you associate with adulterers.

You are ready to accuse your own relatives and to find fault with them.

"Do not judge others, so that God will not judge you,

Why, then, do you look at the speck in your brother's eye and pay no attention to the log in your own eye?

You hypocrite! First take the log out of your own eye, and then you will be able to see clearly to take the speck out of your brother's eye.

"How terrible for you, teachers of the Law and Pharisees! You hypocrites! You make fine tombs for the prophets and decorate the monuments of those who lived good lives;

So you actually admit that you are the descendants of those who murdered the prophets!

"Do not judge others, and God will not judge you; do not condemn others, and God will not condemn you; forgive others, and God will forgive you.

He said to him, 'You bad servant! I will use your own words to condemn you! You know that I am a hard man, taking what is not mine and reaping what I have not planted.

As they stood there asking him questions, he straightened up and said to them, "Whichever one of you has committed no sin may throw the first stone at her."

When they heard this, they all left, one by one, the older ones first. Jesus was left alone, with the woman still standing there.

Do not criticize one another, my friends. If you criticize or judge another Christian, you criticize and judge the Law. If you judge the Law, then you are no longer one who obeys the Law, but one who judges it.

But you, my friend, do those very things for which you pass judgment on others! Do you think you will escape God's judgment?

You teach others---why don't you teach yourself ? You preach, "Do not steal"---but do you yourself steal?

You boast about having God's law---but do you bring shame on God by breaking his law?
