One of them was Andrew, Simon Peter's brother.

Another one of his disciples, Andrew, who was Simon Peter's brother, said,

They went to Philip (he was from Bethsaida in Galilee) and said, "Sir, we want to see Jesus."

Philip went and told Andrew, and the two of them went and told Jesus.

They entered the city and went up to the room where they were staying: Peter, John, James and Andrew, Philip and Thomas, Bartholomew and Matthew, James son of Alphaeus, Simon the Patriot, and Judas son of James.

The next day Jesus decided to go to Galilee. He found Philip and said to him, "Come with me!"

Philip found Nathanael and told him, "We have found the one whom Moses wrote about in the book of the Law and whom the prophets also wrote about. He is Jesus son of Joseph, from Nazareth."

Jesus looked around and saw that a large crowd was coming to him, so he asked Philip, "Where can we buy enough food to feed all these people?"

Philip answered, "For everyone to have even a little, it would take more than two hundred silver coins to buy enough bread."

Philip said to him, "Lord, show us the Father; that is all we need."

Jesus answered, "For a long time I have been with you all; yet you do not know me, Philip? Whoever has seen me has seen the Father. Why, then, do you say, 'Show us the Father'?

As he walked along, he saw a tax collector, Levi son of Alphaeus, sitting in his office. Jesus said to him, "Follow me." Levi got up and followed him.

Jesus left that place, and as he walked along, he saw a tax collector, named Matthew, sitting in his office. He said to him, "Follow me." Matthew got up and followed him.

After this, Jesus went out and saw a tax collector named Levi, sitting in his office. Jesus said to him, "Follow me."

Then Levi had a big feast in his house for Jesus, and among the guests was a large number of tax collectors and other people.

Matthew and Thomas, James son of Alphaeus, and Simon (who was called the Patriot),

Thomas (called the Twin) said to his fellow disciples, "Let us all go along with the Teacher, so that we may die with him!"

One of the twelve disciples, Thomas (called the Twin), was not with them when Jesus came.

A week later the disciples were together again indoors, and Thomas was with them. The doors were locked, but Jesus came and stood among them and said, "Peace be with you."

Thomas answered him, "My Lord and my God!"

Simon Peter, Thomas (called the Twin), Nathanael (the one from Cana in Galilee), the sons of Zebedee, and two other disciples of Jesus were all together.

They entered the city and went up to the room where they were staying: Peter, John, James and Andrew, Philip and Thomas, Bartholomew and Matthew, James son of Alphaeus, Simon the Patriot, and Judas son of James.

Isn't he the carpenter, the son of Mary, and the brother of James, Joseph, Judas, and Simon? Aren't his sisters living here?" And so they rejected him.

Isn't he the carpenter's son? Isn't Mary his mother, and aren't James, Joseph, Simon, and Judas his brothers?

When they had finished speaking, James spoke up: "Listen to me, my friends!

The next day Paul went with us to see James; and all the church elders were present.

Don't I have the right to follow the example of the other apostles and the Lord's brothers and Peter, by taking a Christian wife with me on my trips?

Then he appeared to James, and afterward to all the apostles.

I did not see any other apostle except James, the Lord's brother.

James, Peter, and John, who seemed to be the leaders, recognized that God had given me this special task; so they shook hands with Barnabas and me, as a sign that we were all partners. We agreed that Barnabas and I would work among the Gentiles and they among the Jews.

Judas (not Judas Iscariot) said, "Lord, how can it be that you will reveal yourself to us and not to the world?"
