As Jesus walked along the shore of Lake Galilee, he saw two brothers who were fishermen, Simon (called Peter) and his brother Andrew, catching fish in the lake with a net.

At once they left their nets and went with him.

and at once they left the boat and their father, and went with him.

Jesus left that place, and as he walked along, he saw a tax collector, named Matthew, sitting in his office. He said to him, "Follow me." Matthew got up and followed him.

The next day Jesus decided to go to Galilee. He found Philip and said to him, "Come with me!"

But we had to celebrate and be happy, because your brother was dead, but now he is alive; he was lost, but now he has been found.' "

In the past you were spiritually dead because of your disobedience and sins.

that while we were spiritually dead in our disobedience he brought us to life with Christ. It is by God's grace that you have been saved.

for anything that is clearly revealed becomes light. That is why it is said, "Wake up, sleeper, and rise from death, and Christ will shine on you."

You were at one time spiritually dead because of your sins and because you were Gentiles without the Law. But God has now brought you to life with Christ. God forgave us all our sins;

But a widow who gives herself to pleasure has already died, even though she lives.
