"No one uses a piece of new cloth to patch up an old coat, because the new patch will shrink and tear off some of the old cloth, making an even bigger hole.

Then Jesus' mother and brothers arrived. They stood outside the house and sent in a message, asking for him.

Jesus answered, "Who is my mother? Who are my brothers?"

Whoever does what God wants is my brother, my sister, my mother."

and he answered, "The knowledge of the secrets of the Kingdom of God has been given to you, but to the rest it comes by means of parables, so that they may look but not see, and listen but not understand.

Jesus' mother and brothers came to him, but were unable to join him because of the crowd.

Jesus said to them all, "My mother and brothers are those who hear the word of God and obey it."

Isn't he the carpenter's son? Isn't Mary his mother, and aren't James, Joseph, Simon, and Judas his brothers?

After this, Jesus and his mother, brothers, and disciples went to Capernaum and stayed there a few days.

so Jesus' brothers said to him, "Leave this place and go to Judea, so that your followers will see the things that you are doing.

(Not even his brothers believed in him.)

After his brothers had gone to the festival, Jesus also went; however, he did not go openly, but secretly.

They gathered frequently to pray as a group, together with the women and with Mary the mother of Jesus and with his brothers.

Don't I have the right to follow the example of the other apostles and the Lord's brothers and Peter, by taking a Christian wife with me on my trips?

I did not see any other apostle except James, the Lord's brother.
