"Can anything good come from Nazareth?" Nathanael asked. "Come and see," answered Philip.

Nathanael asked him, "How do you know me?" Jesus answered, "I saw you when you were under the fig tree before Philip called you."

So Jesus said to those who believed in him, "If you obey my teaching, you are really my disciples;

you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free."

Why do you not understand what I say? It is because you cannot bear to listen to my message.

He who comes from God listens to God's words. You, however, are not from God, and that is why you will not listen."

Because the LORD is righteous and good, he teaches sinners the path they should follow.

He leads the humble in the right way and teaches them his will.

Those who have reverence for the LORD will learn from him the path they should follow.

With all my heart I try to serve you; keep me from disobeying your commandments.

I have avoided all evil conduct, because I want to obey your word.

I have not neglected your instructions, because you yourself are my teacher.

There will be a highway there, called "The Road of Holiness." No sinner will ever travel that road; no fools will mislead those who follow it.

The seeds that fell in good soil stand for those who hear the message and retain it in a good and obedient heart, and they persist until they bear fruit.

There was a man in Caesarea named Cornelius, who was a captain in the Roman army regiment called "The Italian Regiment."

It was about three o'clock one afternoon when he had a vision, in which he clearly saw an angel of God come in and say to him, "Cornelius!"

And now send some men to Joppa for a certain man whose full name is Simon Peter.

He told us how he had seen an angel standing in his house, who said to him, 'Send someone to Joppa for a man whose full name is Simon Peter.

He will speak words to you by which you and all your family will be saved.'

The people there were more open-minded than the people in Thessalonica. They listened to the message with great eagerness, and every day they studied the Scriptures to see if what Paul said was really true.

All of us who are spiritually mature should have this same attitude. But if some of you have a different attitude, God will make this clear to you.

However that may be, let us go forward according to the same rules we have followed until now.
