The LORD said to Moses, "I will do just as you have asked, because I know you very well and I am pleased with you."

The LORD answered, "I will make all my splendor pass before you and in your presence I will pronounce my sacred name. I am the LORD, and I show compassion and pity on those I choose.

but here is a place beside me where you can stand on a rock.

Then I will take my hand away, and you will see my back but not my face."

He alone protects and saves me; he is my defender, and I shall never be defeated.

How much longer will all of you attack someone who is no stronger than a broken-down fence?

One day spent in your Temple is better than a thousand anywhere else; I would rather stand at the gate of the house of my God than live in the homes of the wicked.

Philip said to him, "Lord, show us the Father; that is all we need."

Jesus answered, "For a long time I have been with you all; yet you do not know me, Philip? Whoever has seen me has seen the Father. Why, then, do you say, 'Show us the Father'?

"Those who accept my commandments and obey them are the ones who love me. My Father will love those who love me; I too will love them and reveal myself to them."

Jesus answered him, "Those who love me will obey my teaching. My Father will love them, and my Father and I will come to them and live with them.

I am pulled in two directions. I want very much to leave this life and be with Christ, which is a far better thing;

My dear friends, we are now God's children, but it is not yet clear what we shall become. But we know that when Christ appears, we shall be like him, because we shall see him as he really is.

Nothing that is under God's curse will be found in the city. The throne of God and of the Lamb will be in the city, and his servants will worship him.

They will see his face, and his name will be written on their foreheads.
