I keep my promise for thousands of generations and forgive evil and sin; but I will not fail to punish children and grandchildren to the third and fourth generation for the sins of their parents."

Hear my prayers and the prayers of your people when they face this place and pray. In your home in heaven hear us and forgive us.

listen to them in heaven. Forgive the sins of your people and bring them back to the land which you gave to their ancestors.

hear their prayer. Listen to them in your home in heaven, forgive them, and help them. You alone know the thoughts of the human heart. Deal with each person as he deserves,

Forgive all their sins and their rebellion against you, and make their enemies treat them with kindness.

For by the blood of Christ we are set free, that is, our sins are forgiven. How great is the grace of God,

But if we live in the light---just as he is in the light---then we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, purifies us from every sin.

But if we confess our sins to God, he will keep his promise and do what is right: he will forgive us our sins and purify us from all our wrongdoing.

Then Peter came to Jesus and asked, "Lord, if my brother keeps on sinning against me, how many times do I have to forgive him? Seven times?"

because the Kingdom of heaven is like this. Once there was a king who decided to check on his servants' accounts.

The servant did not have enough to pay his debt, so the king ordered him to be sold as a slave, with his wife and his children and all that he had, in order to pay the debt.

The king felt sorry for him, so he forgave him the debt and let him go.

Jesus spoke up and said to him, "Simon, I have something to tell you." "Yes, Teacher," he said, "tell me."

Neither of them could pay him back, so he canceled the debts of both. Which one, then, will love him more?"

Then he turned to the woman and said to Simon, "Do you see this woman? I came into your home, and you gave me no water for my feet, but she has washed my feet with her tears and dried them with her hair.

You provided no olive oil for my head, but she has covered my feet with perfume.

Then Jesus said to the woman, "Your sins are forgiven."

Forgive us our sins, for we forgive everyone who does us wrong. And do not bring us to hard testing.' "

"If you forgive others the wrongs they have done to you, your Father in heaven will also forgive you.

But if you do not forgive others, then your Father will not forgive the wrongs you have done.

Then Peter came to Jesus and asked, "Lord, if my brother keeps on sinning against me, how many times do I have to forgive him? Seven times?"

"No, not seven times," answered Jesus, "but seventy times seven,

"Then the man went out and met one of his fellow servants who owed him a few dollars. He grabbed him and started choking him. 'Pay back what you owe me!' he said.

But he refused; instead, he had him thrown into jail until he should pay the debt.

So he called the servant in. 'You worthless slave!' he said. 'I forgave you the whole amount you owed me, just because you asked me to.

The king was very angry, and he sent the servant to jail to be punished until he should pay back the whole amount."

The leaders replied, "We'll do as you say. We'll give the property back and not try to collect the debts." I called in the priests and made the leaders swear in front of them to keep the promise they had just made.

Then I took off the sash I was wearing around my waist and shook it out. "This is how God will shake any of you who don't keep your promise," I said. "God will take away your houses and everything you own, and will leave you with nothing." Everyone who was present said, "Amen!" and praised the LORD. And the leaders kept their promise.

And when you stand and pray, forgive anything you may have against anyone, so that your Father in heaven will forgive the wrongs you have done."

So watch what you do! "If your brother sins, rebuke him, and if he repents, forgive him.

The apostles said to the Lord, "Make our faith greater."

Instead, be kind and tender-hearted to one another, and forgive one another, as God has forgiven you through Christ.

Be tolerant with one another and forgive one another whenever any of you has a complaint against someone else. You must forgive one another just as the Lord has forgiven you.
