Now all this happened in order to make come true what the Lord had said through the prophet,

where he stayed until Herod died. This was done to make come true what the Lord had said through the prophet, "I called my Son out of Egypt."

and made his home in a town named Nazareth. And so what the prophets had said came true: "He will be called a Nazarene."

He did this to make come true what the prophet Isaiah had said, "He himself took our sickness and carried away our diseases."

He did this so as to make come true what God had said through the prophet Isaiah:

He will not argue or shout, or make loud speeches in the streets.

and on him all peoples will put their hope."

But in that case, how could the Scriptures come true which say that this is what must happen?"

But all this has happened in order to make come true what the prophets wrote in the Scriptures." Then all the disciples left him and ran away.

For I tell you that the scripture which says, 'He shared the fate of criminals,' must come true about me, because what was written about me is coming true."

Then he said to them, "These are the very things I told you about while I was still with you: everything written about me in the Law of Moses, the writings of the prophets, and the Psalms had to come true."

This, however, was bound to happen so that what is written in their Law may come true: 'They hated me for no reason at all.'

Jesus knew that by now everything had been completed; and in order to make the scripture come true, he said, "I am thirsty."

This was done to make the scripture come true: "Not one of his bones will be broken."

And there is another scripture that says, "People will look at him whom they pierced."

There will be no way for them to escape from this time of trouble. The land of the tribes of Zebulun and Naphtali was once disgraced, but the future will bring honor to this region, from the Mediterranean eastward to the land on the other side of the Jordan, and even to Galilee itself, where the foreigners live.

The people who walked in darkness have seen a great light. They lived in a land of shadows, but now light is shining on them.
