All of you that honor the LORD and obey the words of his servant, the path you walk may be dark indeed, but trust in the LORD, rely on your God.

Arise, Jerusalem, and shine like the sun; The glory of the LORD is shining on you!

Nations will be drawn to your light, And kings to the dawning of your new day.

Our enemies have no reason to gloat over us. We have fallen, but we will rise again. We are in darkness now, but the LORD will give us light.

We have sinned against the LORD, so now we must endure his anger for a while. But in the end he will defend us and right the wrongs that have been done to us. He will bring us out to the light; we will live to see him save us.

The people who live in darkness will see a great light. On those who live in the dark land of death the light will shine."

Our God is merciful and tender. He will cause the bright dawn of salvation to rise on us

and to shine from heaven on all those who live in the dark shadow of death, to guide our steps into the path of peace."

A light to reveal your will to the Gentiles and bring glory to your people Israel."

Jesus spoke to the Pharisees again. "I am the light of the world," he said. "Whoever follows me will have the light of life and will never walk in darkness."

Jesus answered, "The light will be among you a little longer. Continue on your way while you have the light, so that the darkness will not come upon you; for the one who walks in the dark does not know where he is going.

I have come into the world as light, so that everyone who believes in me should not remain in the darkness.

You yourselves used to be in the darkness, but since you have become the Lord's people, you are in the light. So you must live like people who belong to the light,

And when all things are brought out to the light, then their true nature is clearly revealed;

for anything that is clearly revealed becomes light. That is why it is said, "Wake up, sleeper, and rise from death, and Christ will shine on you."

But you are the chosen race, the King's priests, the holy nation, God's own people, chosen to proclaim the wonderful acts of God, who called you out of darkness into his own marvelous light.

Now the message that we have heard from his Son and announce is this: God is light, and there is no darkness at all in him.

But if we live in the light---just as he is in the light---then we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, purifies us from every sin.

I am going soon and will never come back--- going to a land that is dark and gloomy,

Even if I go through the deepest darkness, I will not be afraid, LORD, for you are with me. Your shepherd's rod and staff protect me.

Some were living in gloom and darkness, prisoners suffering in chains,

He brought them out of their gloom and darkness and broke their chains in pieces.

The LORD made the stars, the Pleiades and Orion. He turns darkness into daylight and day into night. He calls for the waters of the sea and pours them out on the earth. His name is the LORD.
