He lifts the poor from the dust and raises the needy from their misery. He makes them companions of princes and puts them in places of honor. The foundations of the earth belong to the LORD; on them he has built the world.

Then the earth trembled and shook; the foundations of the mountains rocked and quivered, because God was angry.

for Zerubbabel, the governor of Judah: "I am about to shake heaven and earth

His voice shook the earth at that time, but now he has promised, "I will once more shake not only the earth but heaven as well."

The words "once more" plainly show that the created things will be shaken and removed, so that the things that cannot be shaken will remain.

But the Day of the Lord will come like a thief. On that Day the heavens will disappear with a shrill noise, the heavenly bodies will burn up and be destroyed, and the earth with everything in it will vanish.

Then I saw a great white throne and the one who sits on it. Earth and heaven fled from his presence and were seen no more.

Why, God does not trust even his angels; even they are not pure in his sight.
