Then Ahimaaz son of Zadok said to Joab, "Let me run to the king with the good news that the LORD has saved him from his enemies."

Then the Ethiopian slave arrived and said to the king, "I have good news for Your Majesty! Today the LORD has given you victory over all who rebelled against you!"

And when the LORD has done all the good things he has promised you and has made you king of Israel,

LORD, you are a God who punishes; reveal your anger!

The LORD said to my lord, "Sit here at my right side until I put your enemies under your feet."

He is my protector and defender, my shelter and savior, in whom I trust for safety. He subdues the nations under me.

For Christ must rule until God defeats all enemies and puts them under his feet.
