The LORD said to Noah, "Go into the boat with your whole family; I have found that you are the only one in all the world who does what is right.

He and his wife, and his sons and their wives, went into the boat to escape the flood.

On that same day Noah and his wife went into the boat with their three sons, Shem, Ham, and Japheth, and their wives.

While the people walked across on dry ground, the priests carrying the LORD's Covenant Box stood on dry ground in the middle of the Jordan until all the people had crossed over.

The priests stood in the middle of the Jordan until everything had been done that the LORD ordered Joshua to tell the people to do. This is what Moses had commanded. The people hurried across the river.

to command the priests carrying the Covenant Box to come up out of the Jordan.

and when the priests reached the riverbank, the river began flowing once more and flooded its banks again.

God will put his angels in charge of you to protect you wherever you go.

He will protect you as you come and go now and forever.

Note this and understand it: From the time the command is given to rebuild Jerusalem until God's chosen leader comes, seven times seven years will pass. Jerusalem will be rebuilt with streets and strong defenses, and will stand for seven times sixty-two years, but this will be a time of troubles.

And at the end of that time God's chosen leader will be killed unjustly. The city and the Temple will be destroyed by the invading army of a powerful ruler. The end will come like a flood, bringing the war and destruction which God has prepared.

The LORD says, "Because of my covenant with you that was sealed by the blood of sacrifices, I will set your people free--- free from the waterless pit of exile.

The jailer woke up, and when he saw the prison doors open, he thought that the prisoners had escaped; so he pulled out his sword and was about to kill himself.

But Paul shouted at the top of his voice, "Don't harm yourself ! We are all here!"

But Paul said to the police officers, "We were not found guilty of any crime, yet they whipped us in public---and we are Roman citizens! Then they threw us in prison. And now they want to send us away secretly? Not at all! The Roman officials themselves must come here and let us out."

So they went and apologized to them; then they led them out of the prison and asked them to leave the city.
