yes ! -- you read it right . there really was one . and the consensus was that Chesterton mopped the floor with Darrow . Dale Alguist , the head of the Chesterton society is trying to put together for television a movie on this . the thing is is that all of the people Chesterton wiped out in public deates --G.B.Shaw , Bertrand Russel , H.g. Wells , are all taught in classrooms , but Chesterton is virtually ignored. this really bothered Shaw becuase he thought that Chseterton was one of the worlds greatest genuis . also , the biographers of Darrow books hardly ever mention the Chesterton -Darrow debate , becuase that is the one that he lost so big , and it came right after the scopes trial .
