If truth be told , there really is no way into the kingdom of heaven and being born of the Spirit without being first offended. i like the term --antidote. ''sign of contradiction '' is another good one . i dont know if christian apologetics is that effective . i used to think it was . but i am very content to just confuse people with the irrationality and the madness --foolishness of the gospel ..until they are sufficiently offended to the point where they surrender to GOD . i know that Jed and i disagree on this point . and we have read all the same apologetics by and large. he seems to take the position that one can present the non believer with the believable . i respect that approach and have seen it work . on the other hand , the older i get the more i am convinced of the absolute foolishnes of the gospel and that i really want to discombobulate the person i am talking to . when they say ''this is crazy ''. my reply is ''yep ! its madness from those who view it on the outside. but if i am wrong no one loses a thing . but if i am right and have just told you the absolute truth that your mind cannot comprehend and you dont repent , you will perish forever''.
