We conservatives are often warned that we are going to find ourselves on the wrong side of history, if we don’t accept same sex marriage and other political correct ideas. Progressives are prone to apply this warning to anyone who does not accept their programs. They use this wrong side of history wording as if history is predestined and inevitable.

Pagan Rome believed that the early church was on the wrong side of history. But suddenly God stepped in history and radically change history’s direction. By the end of the 4th Century Christianity was the official religion of the Empire. We often speak of Presidents and how they will be judged by history. In the end history is not the judge.

Men need to worry about being on the wrong side of God. God’s will is usually not fulfilled in the passing record of mankind. Since Adam men have been generally in rebellion against God’s will. However, ultimately, Righteousness will reign and the wicked Progressive agenda will end up on the junk heap of history and their agents in Hell. The future is not closed or predestined; the future will be the result of the choices of men as to whether they will do their own will or do God’s will.

The Lord taught us to pray, “Our Father which art in Heaven, . . . thy will be done on Earth as it is in Heaven.” As we pray, let us occupy until the Lord comes and not worry about the judgment of the capricious historians. A minority of fully dedicated men can turn the tide of history for good or for evil. It only took twelve men, personally trained by Jesus Christ, to transform the Roman world. When the Son of Man returns, shall he find faith on the Earth? When he steps into history the second time, let it be said that he finds faith in at least a remnant that labors for him and conquers in his name.
