We feast on the abundant food you provide; you let us drink from the river of your goodness.

I have entered my garden, my sweetheart, my bride. I am gathering my spices and myrrh; I am eating my honey and honeycomb; I am drinking my wine and milk. Eat, lovers, and drink until you are drunk with love!

Let the wicked leave their way of life and change their way of thinking. Let them turn to the LORD, our God; he is merciful and quick to forgive.

The thief comes only in order to steal, kill, and destroy. I have come in order that you might have life---life in all its fullness.

Let us give thanks to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! Because of his great mercy he gave us new life by raising Jesus Christ from death. This fills us with a living hope,

We do not want you to become lazy, but to be like those who believe and are patient, and so receive what God has promised.

It was faith that made Noah hear God's warnings about things in the future that he could not see. He obeyed God and built a boat in which he and his family were saved. As a result, the world was condemned, and Noah received from God the righteousness that comes by faith.

By faith he lived as a foreigner in the country that God had promised him. He lived in tents, as did Isaac and Jacob, who received the same promise from God.

Since we are his children, we will possess the blessings he keeps for his people, and we will also possess with Christ what God has kept for him; for if we share Christ's suffering, we will also share his glory.

If you belong to Christ, then you are the descendants of Abraham and will receive what God has promised.

Listen, my dear friends! God chose the poor people of this world to be rich in faith and to possess the kingdom which he promised to those who love him.

In the same way you husbands must live with your wives with the proper understanding that they are more delicate than you. Treat them with respect, because they also will receive, together with you, God's gift of life. Do this so that nothing will interfere with your prayers.

There are these two things, then, that cannot change and about which God cannot lie. So we who have found safety with him are greatly encouraged to hold firmly to the hope placed before us.

He never changes. No one can oppose him or stop him from doing what he wants to do.

He will fulfill what he has planned for me; that plan is just one of the many he has;

But his plans endure forever; his purposes last eternally.

People may plan all kinds of things, but the LORD's will is going to be done.

The LORD Almighty has sworn an oath: "What I have planned will happen. What I have determined to do will be done.

This is my plan for the world, and my arm is stretched out to punish the nations."

The LORD Almighty is determined to do this; he has stretched out his arm to punish, and no one can stop him.

From the beginning I predicted the outcome; long ago I foretold what would happen. I said that my plans would never fail, that I would do everything I intended to do.

"In the time of Noah I promised never again to flood the earth. Now I promise not to be angry with you again; I will not reprimand or punish you.

The mountains and hills may crumble, but my love for you will never end; I will keep forever my promise of peace." So says the LORD who loves you.

So also will be the word that I speak--- it will not fail to do what I plan for it; it will do everything I send it to do.

"I have made a covenant with the day and with the night, so that they always come at their proper times; and that covenant can never be broken.

In the same way I have made a covenant with my servant David that he would always have a descendant to be king, and I have made a covenant with the priests from the tribe of Levi that they would always serve me; and those covenants can never be broken.

But I, the LORD, have a covenant with day and night, and I have made the laws that control earth and sky.

And just as surely as I have done this, so I will maintain my covenant with Jacob's descendants and with my servant David. I will choose one of David's descendants to rule over the descendants of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. I will be merciful to my people and make them prosperous again."

"I am the LORD, and I do not change. And so you, the descendants of Jacob, are not yet completely lost.

For God does not change his mind about whom he chooses and blesses.

Every good gift and every perfect present comes from heaven; it comes down from God, the Creator of the heavenly lights, who does not change or cause darkness by turning.

When we make a vow, we use the name of someone greater than ourselves, and the vow settles all arguments.

They answered, "Now we know that the LORD is with you, and we think that there should be a solemn agreement between us. We want you to promise
