"My food," Jesus said to them, "is to obey the will of the one who sent me and to finish the work he gave me to do.

Work hard at whatever you do, because there will be no action, no thought, no knowledge, no wisdom in the world of the dead---and that is where you are going.

"For twenty-three years, from the thirteenth year that Josiah son of Amon was king of Judah until this very day, the LORD has spoken to me, and I have never failed to tell you what he said. But you have paid no attention.

I kept sending you my servants the prophets, who told you not to do this terrible thing that I hate.

Jesus spent those days teaching in the Temple, and when evening came, he would go out and spend the night on the Mount of Olives.

Jesus saw the crowds and went up a hill, where he sat down. His disciples gathered around him,

and he began to teach them:

Then Jesus spoke to the crowd, "Did you have to come with swords and clubs to capture me, as though I were an outlaw? Every day I sat down and taught in the Temple, and you did not arrest me.

Jesus rolled up the scroll, gave it back to the attendant, and sat down. All the people in the synagogue had their eyes fixed on him,

Jesus got into one of the boats---it belonged to Simon---and asked him to push off a little from the shore. Jesus sat in the boat and taught the crowd.
