"This is why I tell you: do not be worried about the food and drink you need in order to stay alive, or about clothes for your body. After all, isn't life worth more than food? And isn't the body worth more than clothes?

"So do not start worrying: 'Where will my food come from? or my drink? or my clothes?'

do not carry a beggar's bag for the trip or an extra shirt or shoes or a walking stick. Workers should be given what they need.

He answered, "Whoever has two shirts must give one to the man who has none, and whoever has food must share it."

Then Jesus asked his disciples, "When I sent you out that time without purse, bag, or shoes, did you lack anything?" "Not a thing," they answered.

Look how the wild flowers grow: they don't work or make clothes for themselves. But I tell you that not even King Solomon with all his wealth had clothes as beautiful as one of these flowers.
