and he also decides that he doesn't want her, so he also writes out divorce papers, gives them to her, and sends her away from his home. Or suppose her second husband dies.

In either case, her first husband is not to marry her again; he is to consider her defiled. If he married her again, it would be offensive to the LORD. You are not to commit such a terrible sin in the land that the LORD your God is giving you.
Jeremiah 3:1
The LORD says, "If a man divorces his wife, and she leaves him and becomes another man's wife, he cannot take her back again. This would completely defile the land. But, Israel, you have had many lovers, and now you want to return to me!

Their answer was, "Moses gave permission for a man to write a divorce notice and send his wife away."

Jesus said to them, "Moses wrote this law for you because you are so hard to teach.

But in the beginning, at the time of creation, 'God made them male and female,' as the scripture says.

'And for this reason a man will leave his father and mother and unite with his wife,

and the two will become one.' So they are no longer two, but one.

No human being must separate, then, what God has joined together."
