The LORD Almighty answers, "I will send my messenger to prepare the way for me. Then the Lord you are looking for will suddenly come to his Temple. The messenger you long to see will come and proclaim my covenant."

But who will be able to endure the day when he comes? Who will be able to survive when he appears? He will be like strong soap, like a fire that refines metal.

Jesus entered Jerusalem, went into the Temple, and looked around at everything. But since it was already late in the day, he went out to Bethany with the twelve disciples.

When they arrived in Jerusalem, Jesus went to the Temple and began to drive out all those who were buying and selling. He overturned the tables of the moneychangers and the stools of those who sold pigeons,

Then Jesus went into the Temple and began to drive out the merchants,

saying to them, "It is written in the Scriptures that God said, 'My Temple will be a house of prayer.' But you have turned it into a hideout for thieves!"

There in the Temple he found people selling cattle, sheep, and pigeons, and also the moneychangers sitting at their tables.

and he ordered those who sold the pigeons, "Take them out of here! Stop making my Father's house a marketplace!"

If the place of worship is too far from your home for you to carry there the tithe of the produce that the LORD has blessed you with, then do this:

Spend it on whatever you want---beef, lamb, wine, beer---and there, in the presence of the LORD your God, you and your families are to eat and enjoy yourselves.

If you are offering a bird as a burnt offering, it must be a dove or a pigeon.

If you cannot afford a sheep or a goat, you shall bring to the LORD as the payment for your sin two doves or two pigeons, one for a sin offering and the other for a burnt offering.

If you cannot afford two doves or two pigeons, you shall bring two pounds of flour as a sin offering. You shall not put any olive oil or any incense on it, because it is a sin offering, not a grain offering.

When the time of her purification is completed, whether for a son or daughter, she shall bring to the priest at the entrance of the Tent of the LORD's presence a one-year-old lamb for a burnt offering and a pigeon or a dove for a sin offering.

If the woman cannot afford a lamb, she shall bring two doves or two pigeons, one for a burnt offering and the other for a sin offering, and the priest shall perform the ritual to take away her impurity, and she will be ritually clean.

You shall also bring two doves or two pigeons, one for the sin offering and one for the burnt offering.

Then he shall offer one of the doves or pigeons

On the eighth day he shall take two doves or two pigeons to the entrance of the Tent of the LORD's presence and give them to the priest.

On the eighth day she shall take two doves or two pigeons to the priest at the entrance of the Tent of the LORD's presence.

They also went to offer a sacrifice of a pair of doves or two young pigeons, as required by the law of the Lord.
