and be ready the day after tomorrow. On that day I will come down on Mount Sinai, where all the people can see me.

At Mount Sinai you came down from heaven; you spoke to your people and gave them good laws and sound teachings.

When you were in trouble, you called to me, and I saved you. From my hiding place in the storm, I answered you. I put you to the test at the springs of Meribah.

and Moses went up the mountain to meet with God. The LORD called to him from the mountain and told him to say to the Israelites, Jacob's descendants:

The LORD said to Moses, "Come up the mountain to me, and while you are here, I will give you two stone tablets which contain all the laws that I have written for the instruction of the people."

Moses and his helper Joshua got ready, and Moses began to go up the holy mountain.

Moses went on up the mountain into the cloud. There he stayed for forty days and nights.

Get ready tomorrow morning, and come up Mount Sinai to meet me there at the top.

So Moses cut two more stone tablets, and early the next morning he carried them up Mount Sinai, just as the LORD had commanded.

I went up the mountain to receive the stone tablets on which was written the covenant that the LORD had made with you. I stayed there forty days and nights and did not eat or drink anything.
