Wicked people bring about their own downfall by their evil deeds, but good people are protected by their integrity.

But evil people are doomed; what they have done to others will now be done to them.

The world of the dead is hungry for them, and it opens its mouth wide. It gulps down the nobles of Jerusalem along with the noisy crowd of common people.

"Then he will say to those on his left, 'Away from me, you that are under God's curse! Away to the eternal fire which has been prepared for the Devil and his angels!

I was a stranger but you would not welcome me in your homes, naked but you would not clothe me; I was sick and in prison but you would not take care of me.'

Other people are selfish and reject what is right, in order to follow what is wrong; on them God will pour out his anger and fury.

They will suffer the punishment of eternal destruction, separated from the presence of the Lord and from his glorious might,

Those who did not have their name written in the book of the living were thrown into the lake of fire.

But cowards, traitors, perverts, murderers, the immoral, those who practice magic, those who worship idols, and all liars---the place for them is the lake burning with fire and sulfur, which is the second death."

All this has happened to us, even though we have not forgotten you or broken the covenant you made with us.

If we had stopped worshiping our God and prayed to a foreign god,

"Listen to this, you that ignore me, or I will destroy you, and there will be no one to save you.
