How much longer will you forget me, LORD? Forever? How much longer will you hide yourself from me?

How long must I endure trouble? How long will sorrow fill my heart day and night? How long will my enemies triumph over me?

When I did not confess my sins, I was worn out from crying all day long.

I am bent over, I am crushed; I mourn all day long.

You are my protector; why have you abandoned me? Why must I go on suffering from the cruelty of my enemies?

Because of your anger and fury, ashes are my food, and my tears are mixed with my drink. You picked me up and threw me away.
