Ezra was standing on a wooden platform that had been built for the occasion. The following men stood at his right: Mattithiah, Shema, Anaiah, Uriah, Hilkiah, and Maaseiah; and the following stood at his left: Pedaiah, Mishael, Malchijah, Hashum, Hashbaddanah, Zechariah, and Meshullam.

They made an inner courtyard for the priests, and also an outer courtyard. The doors in the gates between the courtyards were covered with bronze.

An inner court was built in front of the Temple, enclosed with walls which had one layer of cedar beams for every three layers of stone.

After Solomon had finished praying to the LORD, he stood up in front of the altar, where he had been kneeling with uplifted hands.
