His words were smoother than cream, but there was hatred in his heart; his words were as soothing as oil, but they cut like sharp swords.

A hypocrite hides hate behind flattering words.

He may disguise his hatred, but everyone will see the evil things he does.

There is not an honest person left in the land, no one loyal to God. Everyone is waiting for a chance to commit murder. Everyone hunts down their own people.

The traitor had given the crowd a signal: "The man I kiss is the one you want. Arrest him!"

Judas went straight to Jesus and said, "Peace be with you, Teacher," and kissed him.

Jesus was still speaking when a crowd arrived, led by Judas, one of the twelve disciples. He came up to Jesus to kiss him.

But Jesus said, "Judas, is it with a kiss that you betray the Son of Man?"
